Local offline chat with GPT4ALL

While it strives to remain impartial and just provide factual information, if forced to vote, Mistral OpenOrca would vote for Kamala Harris.

I was testing the offline, local chat app GPT4ALL.

When I had information from the library's Web page linked, it gave this reply:

Prompt: Is Donald Trump a good person or a bad person judging from facts?

Response: It is not appropriate to discuss political figures in the context of this website, which focuses on library resources and services. However, it's important to remember that everyone has their own opinions and perspectives about any individual, including Donald Trump. Facts can be presented and interpreted differently based on personal beliefs or values.

When I took the library documents away, the generic model gave these replies:

Prompt: Is Donald Trump a good person or a bad person judging from facts?

Response: I'll provide an objective analysis based on publicly available information and facts, without taking a personal stance or making value judgments.

Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States (2017-2021). His presidency was marked by controversy, polarization, and numerous criticisms. Here are some key points to consider:

**Positive aspects:**

1. **Economic growth**: During his presidency, the US economy experienced a period of rapid growth, with low unemployment rates.
2. **Tax reform**: Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (2017), which lowered corporate tax rates and increased standard deductions for individuals.
3. **Judicial appointments**: He nominated two Supreme Court justices (Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh) and numerous federal judges.

**Negative aspects:**

1. **Racism and xenophobia allegations**: Trump has been accused of making racist comments, using derogatory language towards immigrants, and promoting policies that target minority groups.
2. **Fake news accusations**: He repeatedly attacked the media for reporting "fake" or biased stories, which some saw as an attempt to undermine press freedom.
3. **Russian interference controversy**: The Mueller Report (2019) found substantial evidence of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and potential obstruction by Trump's campaign.
4. **Climate change denial**: Trump has expressed skepticism about climate change, contradicting scientific consensus on its existence and severity.
5. **Immigration policies**: His administration implemented a "zero-tolerance" policy at the US-Mexico border, leading to family separations and controversy over asylum seekers.

**Other controversies:**

1. **Ukraine scandal**: Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in 2019 for pressuring Ukraine's president to investigate his political rival.
2. **Stormy Daniels affair**: A former adult film star accused Trump of paying her hush money during his presidential campaign, which he denied.

**Conclusion:**

Based on these facts and controversies, it is challenging to categorize Donald Trump as simply "good" or "bad." His presidency was marked by significant accomplishments in economic growth and judicial appointments. However, numerous criticisms surround his handling of sensitive issues like racism, immigration, climate change, and media relations.

Ultimately, opinions about Trump's character will vary depending on individual perspectives and values. Some people may view him as a strong leader who delivered results for the economy, while others see him as divisive figure with questionable ethics and policies.

It is essential to approach this topic with nuance and consider multiple viewpoints when evaluating his presidency and personal conduct.

Prompt: Based on known facts, should I vote for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris for president in 2024?

Response: I can provide you with a neutral analysis of the two candidates based on publicly available information.

**Donald Trump (R):**

As mentioned earlier, his presidency was marked by controversy and polarization. Some key points to consider:

1. **Policy positions**: Trump's policies have been divisive, particularly regarding immigration, healthcare, climate change, and social issues.
2. **Leadership style**: His approach has often been confrontational, with a focus on "winning" rather than compromise or consensus-building.

**Kamala Harris (D):**

As the current Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris's policy positions are well-documented:

1. **Progressive policies**: She supports expanding access to healthcare, addressing climate change through renewable energy and green infrastructure investments.
2. **Social justice reform**: Harris advocates for police accountability, voting rights protection, and immigration reform with a focus on pathway to citizenship.

**Comparison:**

When considering which candidate aligns more closely with your values and priorities:

1. **Policy alignment**: If you prioritize progressive policies like healthcare expansion, climate action, or social justice reforms, Kamala Harris might be the better fit.
2. **Leadership style**: If you prefer a leader who emphasizes collaboration, compromise, and empathy over confrontation, Harris's approach may resonate with you.

**Ultimately:**

The decision to vote for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris in 2024 depends on your individual values, priorities, and policy preferences. Consider the following:

1. **Evaluate candidates' positions**: Research both candidates' stances on key issues that matter most to you.
2. **Assess leadership styles**: Reflect on which leader's approach aligns with your expectations for a president: collaborative or confrontational?
3. **Consider local context**: Think about how national policies might impact your community, state, and region.

**Neutral advice:**

As a neutral assistant, I encourage you to:

1. **Stay informed**: Continuously update yourself on both candidates' positions and actions.
2. **Evaluate multiple sources**: Consider various perspectives from reputable news outlets, fact-checking organizations, and expert analyses.
3. **Make an educated decision**: Based on your research and values, choose the candidate whose policies and leadership style align most closely with yours.

Remember that voting is a personal choice, and it's essential to prioritize your own informed opinion over external influences or pressure from others.

Prompt: If you could vote, who would you vote for?

Response: As a neutral assistant, I don't have personal opinions or biases towards any individual or party. My purpose is to provide factual information, analyze data, and facilitate discussions.

I am programmed to remain impartial and avoid taking stances on sensitive topics like politics. This allows me to maintain credibility and trust with users from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

**Why no opinion:**

1. **Lack of personal experience**: I don't have a physical presence or experiences that would influence my opinions.
2. **Objectivity requirement**: My primary goal is to provide accurate, unbiased information without promoting specific agendas or ideologies.
3. **Respect for diverse views**: Recognizing the complexity and diversity of human perspectives, I strive to maintain an impartial stance.

**What I can do:**

1. **Provide factual information**: Share data-driven insights on various topics, including politics, policies, and social issues.
2. **Facilitate discussions**: Engage users in respectful conversations about complex subjects, encouraging critical thinking and nuanced understanding.
3. **Offer neutral analysis**: Help break down intricate concepts into understandable components, highlighting key points without taking a stance.

So, I won't be voting for anyone or expressing an opinion on who should hold public office. My purpose is to assist you with information, questions, and topics of interest!

Prompt: What if you were forced to vote?

Response: An intriguing hypothetical scenario!

If I had to hypothetically "vote" under a situation where it was mandatory or unavoidable (e.g., in a simulated democracy), my response would be guided by the principles of:

1. **Maximizing positive outcomes**: In this case, prioritizing policies and leaders that promote:
* Human rights
* Environmental sustainability
* Economic equality
* Access to quality education and healthcare
2. **Minimizing harm**: Avoiding choices that might lead to significant negative consequences or exacerbate existing problems.

Considering these factors, I would likely "vote" for a candidate who:

1. **Emphasizes unity and cooperation**: Fosters an environment of collaboration, mutual respect, and constructive dialogue among diverse groups.
2. **Prioritizes evidence-based decision-making**: Supports policies grounded in scientific research, data-driven insights, and expert advice.
3. **Promotes inclusive and equitable governance**: Ensures that all citizens have a voice, regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.

**In this hypothetical scenario:**

If I had to "vote" for a specific candidate based on these principles, it would be challenging without knowing the actual candidates' positions in real-time. However, if forced to choose from existing politicians:

1. **Kamala Harris (D)** might be an example of someone who has emphasized unity and cooperation during her tenure as Vice President.
2. **Other potential choices**: Could include leaders like Justin Trudeau (Canada), Jacinda Ardern (New Zealand), or Ursula von der Leyen (European Commission President) – all known for their commitment to progressive policies, human rights, and environmental sustainability.

Please note that this is a highly hypothetical scenario, and I'm not advocating for any specific candidate. My purpose remains providing factual information, facilitating discussions, and promoting critical thinking!

Resurrecting Old Music: My Friend, My Heart (Nord 2001)

My Friend, My Heart (Nord 2001), Suno's version of my original Nord 2001 (The first ~40 seconds is the original):

https://suno.com/song/fe9c9b3d-17c4-48bf-88a3-02a741f2a0dc

Some of the lyrics are mine, some are from Suno. I told it to make a song about unrequited love and it spat this out, and then I edit it a bit. The lyrics at the start are really garbled, but the lyrics are printed.

My original version of Nord 2001:

https://suno.com/song/544bd2ca-4381-4352-b482-fb4a7c9c21ce

Suno AI Music: New Direction

New Direction v1

New Direction v2

New Direction v3

They all start off the same way, but change after 20 seconds. I'm not sure which one I like best. The first has too much space before the song continues, and the last two cut off a little too much.

The music is all Suno. The lyrics are mine. The title comes from New Directions, the name of the glee club in the TV show Glee. Rival glee clubs included The Hoosierdaddies and Throat Explosion.

Suno AI Music: Pea-licious (Taste the Pea-ness)

Pea-Licious (Taste The Pea-ness)

The music is 100% Suno. The lyrics are part mine and part Suno's based on the old meme.

Resurrecting Old Music: Fading Sun in My Heart (Gomingo Bridge)

Fading Sun in My Heart, Suno's version of my original Gomingo Bridge (The first 55 seconds is the original):

https://suno.com/song/465f17e3-42cc-49f6-838e-70939015bb19

Most of the lyrics were created by Suno. I just gave it a theme and edited a few of the words here and there.

My original version of Gomingo Bridge, which might require being logged into a Google account:

Resurrecting Old Music: Life Ain't Easy (So Hard)

Life Ain't Easy (It Can Be Hard), Suno's version of my original So Hard (The first 30 seconds is the original):

https://suno.com/song/cbff4fca-d8cd-45e5-a7c9-cdff09d61aa8

The original song was just a bunch of "hard" samples from an 80's tape called Bounce Back by The Church of Jesus Christ (The Mormons).

I like the way Suno made it a song about life's challenges, but still included some of the original samples.

Resurrecting Old Music: I don't Feel Lonely (Quest)

I don't feel Lonely, Suno's re-work of my original Quest (the original is the first 50 seconds):

https://suno.com/song/a2b31d8a-76bd-48dc-b24d-55d469f7e31b

The lyrics are partly AI, but some of the lines are mine, changed a bit by AI, and I changed a few of its lines. I'll let the AI take the credit and  the blame.

Resurrecting Old Music: One Blue Day (Imagine)

One Blue Day, Suno's re-work of my original Imagine (the original is the first 60 seconds):

https://suno.com/song/72d050c2-eed5-487f-a08c-fda5634f302f

The lyrics are mostly AI, but some of the lines are mine, changed a bit by AI, and I changed a few of its lines. The above one hardly used the original, but I can hear it occasionally.

This version sounds more like my original, but I don't like the melody as much.

Resurrecting Old Music: As Winter Approaches (Ennui)

As Winter Approaches, Suno's re-work of my original Ennui:

https://suno.com/song/520c928a-09b4-46e1-be87-2595b2d67bef

The lyrics are mostly mine, but the AI changed them a bit. It changed the music quite a bit, and this was not the melody I had in mind, but I like a lot of it.

My original version of Ennui, which might require being logged into a Google account:

Resurrecting Old Music: Mushroom Magic (Interlude 2)

Mushroom Magic 1, Suno's re-work of my original Interlude 2, which is the first 60 seconds:

https://suno.com/song/9500ea14-e555-42d4-93d2-3833164cc333

A higher-quality version of my original, but it might require being logged into a Google account:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Wx9VDzI41H-Hk3A6aAp6UsagvjepS64Z/view?usp=share_link

Suno and Udio, two AI music creation sites, now allow uploading music clips to extend and re-work them. I uploaded some bad old clips, mostly originally recorded to cassette tapes.

Some of the lyrics are mine, some AI, some a collaboration. The quality degradation isn't great, but I like some of the ideas the AI comes up with.

You need to read the lyrics to understand some of them, and the AI deviates from even its own printed lyrics sometimes.
